I'm delighted to announce I've been included
in the publication of "A Palace of Verandas,”
a new poetry anthology featuring poets from

It’s a joy to be featured alongside so many

The Collection

What The Moon Asks of Us

This vibrant collection of poetry explores the concepts of human connection, separation, absence, longing, loss, and ultimately, reunion.

Many of the poems presented here are lamentations on the theme of separation; the missing of or longing for someone, something, or others.

In Elemental, a quartet inspired by T.S. Eliot’s, Little Gidding, the poet explores absence and the possibilities of revival & reunion. These poems will be featured in an upcoming art exhibition focused on climate change.

New Normal, a modern elegy based upon current global events, chaos, and change, was written during an interdisciplinary art venture based in the UK. The Create/Collaborate project was launched to connect artists of various genres around the world.

Readers who admire the poetry of Amy Lowell, Marianne Moore, Catherine Pozzi, Mary Oliver, Louise Gluck, Carl Sandburg, T.S. Eliot, and Billy Collins may find this collection a refreshing addition to their poetry library.

About
Praise for What The Moon Asks of Us

There is always a sense of space and time in Dawn Hopkins' work, even when it is narrowed down by loss and grief.

The search to restore the vivid colours of life and love is indomitable, never clouded by self- pity.

There is a refusal to be defeated, a determination to employ visual images as tentative movements towards the light.

These poems are deeply personal, but make connections way beyond the cry of personal angst. They are also tinged with rueful humour, they turn back on their author with a cool, ironic gaze.
